Hello world! Welcome to Pepper & Rye! A contradictory kitchen featuring vegan, paleo and grain free recipes. I will be featuring new recipe posts every Sunday and a few other fun features throughout the week. After psyching myself out several times thinking I couldn't keep up with this site I decided to throw caution to the wind and dive in head first. Can we picture that for a sec? Firstly, me literally throwing a caution sign into the wind and secondly me diving into a lake head first..
A little about the concept of this blog: I am constantly trying new recipes and exploring vegan, paleo and grain free avenues in cooking and baking. I know what you are thinking.. Vegan AND Paleo? Those are basically opposite diets! Right? Right. That's the whole point. I don't consider myself a full blown vegan, although I have a raging fiery passion for fruits and veggies. I do see several health benefits in both diets. Generally eating unprocessed, real food leads to sustained weight loss which is a win-win situation if you ask me! I prefer a whole foods, plant based diet but who am I kidding- I could never give up meat! I am not a health expert and don't claim to be, I simply wanted to invite everyone to join me on this adventure. Cheers!
