Madison Valley's charming Cafe Flora has been consistently recognized as the best vegetarian restaurant in Seattle and living in the neighborhood I make my fair share of visits to this establishment. With locally sourced organic offerings and creative menu twists and turns, Cafe Flora will be sure to wow even the most carnivorous of friends. Many of Cafe Flora's menu items offer gluten free and vegan alternatives which is exactly what prompted Pepper & Rye's visit!
I'm a sucker for a good French Dip and of course, Yam Fries. Cafe Flora's French Dip is filled with portabello mushrooms, caramelized onions & swiss cheese. Their mushroom garlic au jus is literally to die for; I could drink it like soup! I couldn't bare the thought of not ordering a cocktail so I had the delicious and subtly sweet 'Springtime Mule', with vodka, aperol, lime juice, house-made ginger beer and Fee Brothers' rhubarb bitters topped with a rhubarb garnish.
With a plethora of delicious vegetarian, vegan and gluten free offerings and a beautiful atmosphere I'm positive you will fall head over heels for this place!
