Kiyokawa Family Orchards

Kiyokawa Family Orchards

I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Columbia Gorge Cidermaster's first annual Cider Camp. Our second stop of the memorable weekend was Kiyokawa Family Orchards. Boasting more than 80 apparent varieties of apples, pears and Asian pears, Kiyokawa's Orchards are notably the most impressive I've seen. Randy Kiyokawa was kind enough to give us the grand tour of his lovely orchards and even invited us in to his home to try some varieties. From Ambrosia apples to Zestar, we had the time to taste some variations that you wouldn't normally see in your local grocer.

The pictures will speak for themselves. Kiyokawa Family Orchards is unforgivably charming and certainly worth the drive to Oregon. With roaring views of Mt. Hood in the distance and a nostalgic fall setting, this may just be the perfect spot for the season.

Cheers,

Natalie
