maple bacon brussel pear crisps
All you Paleo folk should be cheering for joy for this recipe! Maple Bacon Brussel Pear Crisps are on the menu today! Did someone say BACON!?? Along with most of my Simple & Crisp pairings, this will be sure to please and impress all of your gluten-free friends at dinner parties and wine tastings. Let's get to it!
***Keep in mind you can gather these ingredients based on how many crisps you plan on serving. I only went through a couple strips of bacon for this recipe.

Simple & Crisp Pear Crisps
Maple Syrup (Preferably grade B)
Brussel Sprouts sliced into 1/2 inch pieces lengthwise
Salt cured bacon

Begin by grilling bacon evenly to a crisp- I used my trusty George Foreman outdoor grill (For those of you that don't know, I am literally obsessed with this appliance). This should take 8 minutes or so on each side. Meanwhile, chop your brussel sprouts if you haven't already. They should be cut into 1/2 inch pieces. Be very fragile as these little guys have a tendency to fall apart. When bacon is halfway cooked, place brussel sprouts face down on heated grill and flip once.
By the time the bacon is ready your brussel sprouts should be thoroughly cooked. You want to make sure the sprouts have a nice little char or sear on them for a beautiful finish. I mean, we are going for taste AND looks here people. Bare with me. Chop up your bacon into 2 or 3 inch pieces and place on pear crisps. Place your sliced brussel sprout artfully over bacon so that a sliver of bacon is visible. With a spoon or very carefully with maple syrup spout, begin to artfully drizzle syrup over crisps. Transfer crisps to a white plate and stare at these guys and take 20 pictures of them- then feel free to consume.
***Warning: You will want to eat entire plate. Make sure to save some for your friends.
