how to make a grain-free açai bowl
Anyone that knows me, knows that I am obsessed with açai bowls! There are only a couple places to get good ones here in Seattle so I thought I'd take a crack at making my own! Once the sun starts consistently shining, these babies will be on the menu more often. I ate this today and I got the chills!
/// Ingredients ///
1 crushed Sambazon Açai smoothie pack (use 2 pouches within the pack)
1 cup coconut milk
1 handful of raspberries, blueberries
4 giant strawberries
1 heaping tablespoon chia seed
1 tablespoon protein powder (optional)
/// Instructions ///
In a powerful blender (I recommend using a Vitamix or a Ninja) blend coconut milk, 2 Sambazon packs and protein powder. If you have a standard grade blender you will probably be tempted to put in more coconut milk at this point. Please try not to do this as it will make the mixture runny and you don't want to end up with a sloppy mess. All that to say, a professional grade blender is worth investing in for moments like these. After ingredients are thoroughly blended, begin to arrange your toppings. You can also use bananas, goji berries, bee pollen, pumpkin seeds, almonds, and pretty much any other fruit and nut you can think of.
